Boy (7) dies after uMhlanga hotel pool accident

The 7-year-old died two days after he was successfully resuscitated by a hotel guest and paramedics.

THE seven-year-old boy who was successfully resuscitated after he was found floating in an uMhlanga hotel pool has died. On Wednesday, the boy was resuscitated by a hotel guest and paramedics who worked for more than 45 minutes to save him.

According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, the boy tragically died this morning at about 3.15am.

Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, sent his condolences to the family and was one of the people on scene involved in the CPR.

“When he was pulled out of the water he was in a state of cardiac arrest. A guest at the hotel who happened to be a qualified medical doctor, immediately initiated Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) while a call for assistance was made. Sadly we got the news this morning that he had passed away. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends,” he said.
