Famous faces join feline fundraiser

Sales will go towards the sterilisation of a stray or feral cat.

FOUR of the city’s most famous faces are joining hands and pledging their support for the Cats of Durban calender, from which sales will go towards the sterilisation of a stray or feral cat.

Philanthropist, Alice Leah, actress, Liesl Coppen, actor Bryan Hiles and designer, Kathrin Kidger are encouraging residents to purchase a calendar and contribute towards this worthy cause.

Cats of Durban founder, Niki Moore, said every five calendars sold will pay for the sterilisation procedure.

Sterilising one cat means preventing potentially 2 000 unwanted kittens from being born in just four years and this equates to two million kittens in eight years,” Moore explained.

“Your Christmas present will help all the undervalued and unappreciated cats of Durban, who provide a service to the city by keeping down the rats and mice and cockroach populations,” she said.

The A3 calendar sells for R100 and the price excludes postage. The calendars can also be bought from The Oyster Box, vets situated in the Durban North area and Petland. To order a calendar, contact Dianne Reddy on 031 267 9700 or email calendars@compass.za.net
