NSFAS extends applications deadline

Applications reopen from 9 - 20 January 2017.

STUDENTS wanting to apply for study loans from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) have until 20 January to apply. This after the aid scheme extended their application process date.

During a media briefing, NSFAS executive officer, Msulwa Daca, said they will be reopening their application for higher funding from 9 – 20 January 2017. Results of the application process will be released in February next year.

This means that learners who applied during the first phase will know if they were granted NSFAS loans before the release of the matric results in January.

Daca added that following the closing of applications, thousands of learners continued to ask about a possible extension to the applications deadline.

NSFAS has to date received 233 470 applications from students wanting to study at various tertiary education facilities.
