IF you’re invited to be a part of the Secret Sister Gift Exchange on Facebook, ignore it. According to Facebook, the Exchange is a scam that has seen hundreds of people conned.
In a statement Facebook said that although it looks and sounds like a fun game, it’s considered to be a pyramid scheme and participants could be arrested.
According to Facebook a friend sends a request and all you then do is buy one $10 gift for someone and add your name to a list. You will then get between six and 36 gifts in the mail.
But there are no gifts, authorities warn that it’s purely an attempt to get your personal information.
