Refuse collection will continue over festive period

DSW offices will be closed, but the operational staff will be on duty throughout the festive season.

THE City has encouraged residents to continue leaving their refuse for collection during the festive season as Durban Solid Waste (DSW) will adhere to the normal collection schedule.

According to eThekwini spokesman, Tozi Mthethwa, this includes Christmas Day, 25 December and New Year’s Day, 1 January 2017.

“The DSW offices will be closed on 16, 17, 25 and 26 December 2016, and on 1 and 2 January 2017, but the operational staff will be on duty throughout the festive season providing services to eThekwini residents.

“Residents are reminded that DSW staff are strictly prohibited from touting for money or gifts from residents. Residents are also advised to be wary of con artists posing as municipal workers who have been known to solicit gifts,” she said.
