Celebrate with Action in Autism

Research shows that boys are four times more likely to have autism than girls.

ACTION in Autism will host a year end social at George Campbell School Grounds. The event is free to all people with autism and their families and takes place on Saturday, 3 December from 10am to 2pm.

The organisation said there is an ongoing uncertainty about the cause, treatment, intervention and prognosis within the condition, adding that it was not caused by bad parenting.  According to Action in Autism, one in a 110 children have the condition.

They run an early learning intervention centre for children ages two to six years, and provide free support, advice, research and information to people with autism and their families. A free monthly diagnostic clinic is offered to families who do not have access to medical aid, and Action in Autism runs bi-annual training workshops, hosted by a team of professionals, that aims to share information and transfer skills and techniques for communication to parents and professionals.
