R8 400 drug bust made in Glenashley

Two suspects who were found in possession of the drugs were arrested.

TWO men have been arrested for being in possession of drugs following an incident in Glenashley on Wednesday morning. Members of the Durban Flying Squad conducted the operation in the area at about 6.30am.

While they were busy in the operation they received information about two men in possession of drugs at Newport Avenue. The members found two suspicious men who were searched. A total of 84 parcels of hydroponic dagga were found in their possession. A roll of cash of R600 believed to be the proceeds of dagga was also confiscated.

“The street value of the recovered dagga is R8400. Two suspects aged 28 and 35 were taken into custody and will appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court for charges of dealing in dagga later this week,” said provincial spokesman Thulani Zwane.

In March this year, Durban North SAPS made a R15 000 drug bust on the same road.
