SA clinches destination of the year award

Minister of Trade and Industry hails South Africa's success after winning world award.

SOUTH Africa has won the Global Sourcing Association’s (GSA) annual Outsourcing Destination of the Year award. The win has been hailed by Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies who said the win cements the country’s investment position.

“This award underpins the high quality standards, relevant skills, the potential to deliver complex and non- complex processes and cost savings which enhances our proposition for Business Process Services globally,” said Davies.

This, as South Africa won last night, at the award ceremony held in the United Kingdom, following a rigorous assessment process.

The GSA is the industry association and professional body for the global sourcing industry.

Minister Davies said South Africa offers value beyond a cost arbitrage with investors reporting positive operational effectiveness and revenue impacts.

Since 2012, the South African offshore Business Process Services (BPS) market has experienced compounded average growth of 25 per cent year-on-year and now boasts around 30 000 offshore jobs, with the United Kingdom being the leading buyer of South African BPS services followed by Australia and the USA which is rapidly growing.
