GO!Durban road closures will affect your route

Plan ahead to beat the traffic.

THE M25 KwaMashu interchange and Dumisani Makhaye Drive (MR577) will be closed to traffic from 11 – 14 November. The closures, take effect from 8pm on 11 November. The road will reopen at 8am on 14 November. This is due to ongoing construction of the GO!Durban project.

GO!Durban forms part of the eThekwini Municipality’s new Integrated Rapid Public Rransport Network (IRPTN) which they say will dramatically improve public transport within the City. Their overall goal is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Durban through the construction of a world class integrated rapid public transport network (IRPTN). Forming part of the network is Route C3, which will connect the areas of Bridge City and Pinetown.

Project organisers said the existing M25 on‐ramp from the MR577  in KwaMashu will be one of the existing roads that will be widened. This section is approximately 3.6km long and extends along the M25 from Bridge City in the north to the MR577 / M25 intersection. Forming part of the network is Route C3, which will connect the areas of Bridge City and Pinetown.
