Search launched for Durban artists

KZNSA Gallery is hoping to find interesting and innovative artists to take part in the KZNSA Buzzart exhibition.

DURBAN’S biggest local independent Christmas fair, KZNSA’s Buzzart, which runs at the KZNSA Gallery in Glenwood from 18 November until 15 January, is looking for artists, crafters and designers (in various media) to participate in their annual year-end KZNSA Buzzart exhibition and show.

“We are looking for interesting, unusual, innovative locally-designed and manufactured arts, craft, garments, jewellery, decor items and objects d’art to include in our Buzzart exhibition,” explained KZNSA Gallery’s Angela Shaw. “First-time exhibitors are especially welcome,” she added.
Now a local-only affair, with exciting makers in many disciplines, Buzzart is the destination for original proudly South African gifts and collectable art and bespoke design in Durban catering for those on a budget looking for stocking fillers, to those wanting to purchase collectable pieces.
The exhibition offers products to suit every taste and occasion – including jewellery, textiles, Christmas décor, lighting, fashion, stationery, wirework, beadwork,  ceramics and many more. One of special projects this year include a homage to the balmy subtropics taking the form of a range of work with a tropical or jungle theme – in particular working with a monkey motif honouring the Year of the Monkey which wraps up in January 2017.
The KZNSA is a not-for-profit, member-based, public benefit arts organisation – situated in 166 Bulwer Road in Glenwood. Contact  Angela Shaw on 083 384 3660 or Gloria Hoff on 031 2771700.
