ICare changes 1 000 lives

The organisation has signed 1 000 street children to its holistic rehabilitation programme.

ICare, a non-profit organisation (NPO) based in Somerset Park has recently made a breakthrough in its mission to rescue and rehabilitate the country’s street children. The breakthrough comes as the organisation registered its one thousandth child to its database.

“We are so proud of these street children for making the decision to transform their lives into effective members of society,” said marketing manager, Gail Elson.

ICare is a non-profit organisation that is dedicated to finding a holistic solution to the challenges facing street children in South Africa.

Staff have appealed to the public not to give street children any money as this enables and prolongs their stay on the streets. It also encourages substance abuse, which in turn can lead to crime.
