Man assaulted and robbed at Glenashley shopping centre

One of the suspects involved in the robbery was armed with a knife.

A MANAGER of a cycle shop was assaulted and robbed by two men in a robbery at a shop at the Glenore Shopping Centre on Monday evening. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about 7pm.

“The victim was the only one in the shop and noticed two men enter the shop. He was working under a table. The suspects began unplugging the laptop and hadn’t noticed the manager until he asked he startled them. As he tried to get up, he was punched in the face. One of the men was allegedly armed with a knife. Both suspects assaulted the man and he suffered bruising to his face. They took the laptop from the shop and fled on foot,” he said.

Deokaran added no arrests had yet been made.
