Stolen kiddies bikes recovered

When the suspect was spotted pushing the bicycles along a residential road he dropped them and fled on foot.

TWO stolen bicycles were recovered in Rosehilll on Monday after a suspicious man was spotted walking along a residential road.

According to Kyle van Reenen, of Marshall Security, an armed reaction officer noticed that the man “appeared to walk faster after noticing the Marshall Security vehicle”.

He said the officer then grew suspicious.

Van Reenen said an attempt was made to question the man; however as the reaction officer approached him he dropped the children’s’ bicycles and fled on foot into nearby dense bush.

“A search was conducted however the suspect remains at large,” he said.

The two bicycles, believed to be stolen property, was handed over to the South African Police Services and later claimed by the owner after she noticed that they were missing from the garage.
