New album release for rising SA singer

Matthew Mole also plays the ukulele, banjo, piano, organ and drums.

MATTHEW Mole is treating Durbanites to a laid-back Sunday afternoon show at The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway, when he launches his new album, Run, to local audiences on 2 October.

Signature Matthew Mole elements like his vocals, acoustic guitar and thematic songs are all present on the new album. Matthew describes his songwriting style as being influenced by his taste in music.
Mole is not your typical musician. He never had dreams of stardom and grandeur, but prefers to live life humbly. Raised in Fish Hoek, Cape Town, he was given his first guitar at the age of 11, and his dad, who is himself a bit of a guitar-fundi, taught him to play. Matthew’s singing and song-writing was only introduced at the age of 17 based on a suggestion from his dad to improve his playing.

He has since learnt to play the ukulele, banjo, piano, organ and drums.
Since launching his debut album in 2013, Mole has enjoyed huge success with his songs Autumn; Take Yours, I’ll Take Mine; You And Your Crown; and Same Parts, Same Heart.  He has been touring South Africa extensively, travelling internationally, got married in August last year, and has begun touring to promote his new album.

The show starts at 2pm. Tickets are R165 per person.
