RIOTS have flared up along North Coast and Sea Cow Lake Roads this morning, and the public is urged to avoid the area.
According to W/O Leon Audh, of the Greenwood Park SAPS, the violence in the area is the result of a route dispute between two taxi associations. The roads have been blocked off with dust bins and burning debris.
He confirmed that one person had been shot.
“The injured man was rushed to hospital when police arrived at the scene,” he said.
Audh said while the situation is currently calm, police are still on scene and will monitor the situation.
