Mercedes recovered after armed robbery

Armed men storm Avoca home, steal various items including homeowner's car.

FOUR men, two of whom were armed with pistols stormed a home on Avoca Road  on Sunday morning. According to Marshall Securtiy’s Kyle van Reenen, the incident occurred just after 11am. The suspect not only ransacked the house but also stole the homeowner’s Mercedes Benz which was later recovered.

“The four suspects arrived in an unknown vehicle and stormed the home, holding up the home owners and ransacking the house. They made off with flat screen televisions and various electronic equipment, before fleeing the scene in the owners’ vehicle, a Mercedes Benz C200, which was fitted with a tracking device.

“A description of the vehicle was immediately distributed to all available vehicles in the area and the Marshall Security Special Operations Team were called into assist. A tracking signal was found in Morningside. After an extensive search the vehicle was recovered in Poplar Road, approximately fifteen minutes after being reported stolen,” he said.

Van Reenen added the suspects remain at large.
