‘We still have petrol’
The Northglen News has compiled a list of service stations that confirmed that they have fuel stocks even with the current petrol strike in full swing.
WITH the ongoing petrol strike and sudden dip in fuel prices hundreds of motorists are flocking to their nearest service station to fill up their tanks. The price of petrol is due to go down by 99 cents per litre tomorrow, while the diesel price will decrease by 74 cents.
However, some station managers and owners have warned that the current fuel availability could change in the next 48 hours. Last week some residents claimed that they had gone to over three stations before they were able to buy fuel.
To assist our readers the Northglen News has contacted various service stations in and around the Durban North area to confirm fuel availability.
While the BP Spingpark Service Station said it did currently have petrol, staff only expected the next delivery on Thursday afternoon. Staff said their last delivery had been late and that they had run out of 95 unleaded.
The Sasol Avoca manager, Praveen Maharaj, on the KwaMashu Highway said they have been stocking up fuel reserves and did not foresee running dry in the near future.
“As a service station on a national highway as well as a tourist route we have taken the necessary precautions, as we cannot afford to run dry,” he said.
