APPROXIMATELY 11 people have been injured after two taxis crashed on Umhlanga Rocks Drive (URD) at 12pm on Sunday after noon.
According to Neil Powell of Crisis Medical, one of the patients was critically injured and two were entrapped in the wreckage.
“eThekwini Fire and Rescue were on scene and had to use the Jaws of Life to cut the patients from the wreck,” he said.
Powell said it is believed that the accident occurred when one of the taxi’s brakes failed at the red robot at the intersection of URD and Ashley Avenue.
