Thieves steal two BMWs 5 minutes apart

The brazen thieves returned five minutes after stealing one vehicle from the family's yard.

THIEVES stole two BMW’s from a North Durban home just five minutes apart. According to Kyle van Reenen, the thefts occurred at about 5.30am on Sunday morning.

“The incident occurred on Avoca Road. The homeowner’s daughter came home early in the morning and had gone into the bathroom when she heard her car start-up. When she looked out the window she saw two men in her white 320 BMW. The driveway gate was opened and the men drove off with her car.

“Just five minutes later however, the brazen thieves came back and took another BMW, this time a 5 series BMW. Both sets of keys for both the vehicles were in the house,” he said.

One of the vehicles, the BMW 320i, was later recovered. Van Reenen urged residents to look at setting up a security system with outside beams and fitting vehicles with tracking devices.
