Robbers break down door, ransack house

The domestic worker, who was at home at the time of the robbery, was left traumatised.

THREE men linked to a string of robberies in Greenwood Park and surrounding areas carried out a daring robbery on Friday afternoon. The men, who were wearing bulletproof vests kicked down a door of a home on Celtic Road in Greenwood Park before ransacking the house.

“The domestic worker was at home at the time. The men didn’t harm her but she was left traumatised by the incident. They took several goods including a TV and a sound system. They ran out of the house to their getaway car, which had a fourth suspect as the driver,” a police source said.

According to Kyle van Reenen, of Marshall Security, the vehicle was last seen in Sydenham.

“The suspects used a silver Ford Figo fitted with ND number plates and have been linked to robberies in Greenwood Park and surrounding areas. The occupants were wearing bulletproof vests. The vehicle was last seen in the Sydenham area,” he said.
