Altercation leads to fatal stabbing

This follows the attempted murder of a woman in Glen Anil.

THIS weekend, Greenwood Park SAPS responded to a grisly murder scene in Quarry Heights. The woman had reportedly been stabbed to death after she was seen having an altercation with a man at her home on Bhejane Road, said the station’s spokesman W/O Leon Audh.

“The community tried to step in and stop the fight and thereafter left the home. The community then alleged that a few minutes later they were informed that the same female who was involved in the altercation was stabbed,” he said.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered that the woman had been stabbed in the chest. Audh said the investigating officers later arrested two suspects in connection with the murder.

This follows the attempted murder of a 28-year-old woman in Glen Anil two weeks ago. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, the woman was shot in the chest in what appeared to be a domestic dispute.

“Reports from the scene suggest that a private security guard, who was guarding an industrial site in the area, allegedly had a domestic dispute with the victim. Things took a turn for the worse and the guard produced a private small calibre firearm, shooting her in the chest,” he said.

A man was also stabbe, and seriously injured during an altercation at a bar on North Coast Road on Saturday.
