Why is stepping on a Lego block so painful?

Scientists have recently tackled the age-old myth regarding these troublesome blocks.

EVERY parent will know the earth-shattering pain inflicted on one’s bare feet by those seemingly innocent Lego blocks.

The traumatising experience, said to be rivaled only by the act of stubbing your toe or childbirth, has even spawned its own internet meme.

Recently scientists have delved into the mystery surrounding the painful calamity. According to former president and CEO of The Lego Group, there are several factors to be considered:

– The soles of our feet are soft and covered in lots of nerve endings (which help keep the body balanced).
– Scientists have determined that the blocks are so durable that 430 kilograms would not be able to crack 375 000 of these bricks.
– With their sharp corners, they are able to inflict concentrated pressure on a small area of one’s foot.
