A ‘HACKTIVIST ‘group known as Anonymous Africa launched a massive cyber attack on the public broadcaster, the SABC, yesterday.
Several of the SABC’s websites, including some of its radio stations (SAFM and 5FM) experienced downtime until 4pm.
Via Twitter, the group claimed responsibility for the hacking, saying it was a retaliation to the SABC chief operating officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s, decision to censor or block all images of members of the public burning private or municipal property.
