Woman (28) shot in Glen Anil, airlifted to hospital

The victim’s condition is uncertain as she is curretly being transported to hospital for immediate care.

SEVERAL paramedics services have converged at the scene of a horrific crime this afternoon in Glen Anil. According to Marshall Security’s Kyle Van Reenen, a 28-year-old woman was shot in the chest in what appears to be a domestic dispute.

Van Reenen said the patient was in a critical condition and had to be airlifted and transported to Chief Albert Luthuli Hospital for further care. “Advanced Life Support was needed to stabilise her,” he said.

According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Athlenda Mathe, the incident occurred at about 3.30pm.

“Paramedics managed to stabilise the critically wounded woman on scene before the Red Cross Helicopter was dispatched to the scene to airlift the woman to a nearby hospital for further medical care.The woman was also intubated on scene by a Netcare911 paramedic to assist her to breathe.
