Future of murdered Glen Anil man’s pets in limbo

A Redhill animal organisation appeals for help with four cats whose futures are now uncertain following the killing of their owner.

THE futures of four cats belonging to the 60-year-old who was brutally murdered in Glen Anil last week are in limbo. Brian Metheral was stabbed to death at his factory on Columbine Place by four attackers, who made off with a laptop. He was stabbed 13 times.

His cats – Pippin, Marmalade, Claudette and Jessica – who were rescued from the factory, now need homes. They are currently at Northway Vet but will be moved to a cattery later today.

Feeding the Furballs founder, Farrah Khan Maharajh, said she hoped the sad story could have a happy ending

“You don’t need words to express grief. I can only imagine what they are going through. I heard the cats were at Northway and I went to visit and we offered all our resources to help find them homes. Three of the cats have been sterilised, the youngest kitten has not yet. They are all very affectionate and they deserve a happy ending,” she said.

According to the vet, the cats do not need to be homed together.  If you would like to help, contact Farrah on 083 793 6897 or the vet on 031 563 8384.
