uMhlanga businesses robbed an hour apart

The businesses were robbed of thousands of Rands' worth of IT equipment.

A GANG of robbers targeted two businesses in uMhlanga within two kilometres of each other early on Tuesday morning. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, both businesses were robbed of computer equipment. It is unclear what vehicle was used by the suspects but the robberies occurred an hour apart.

“The first robbery took place at an insurance company on Richefond Circle. The gang forced their way into the premises and stole three tablets. In the second robbery, the same modus operandi was used, the robbers forced the doors of the business open. They stole seven laptops, four computers, two monitors and an LG TV,” he said.

Police have warned of a spike in business robberies in the uMhlanga Ridge area recently. No arrests have been made yet.
