Water meter thief arrested in Glenhills

The man was arrested after he was found with the stolen item in his possession.

AUTHORITIES thwarted the theft of a water meter on Rinaldo Road in Glenhills earlier today.

“Neighbours saw a man wearing a blue football shirt fleeing down the road and alerted the local neighbourhood watch. Patrols were done in the area, however the suspect was no where to be found,” said Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen.

He said they were then alerted to a theft of a water meter from a residential complex on Rinaldo Road around 2.30pm.

“A description of the suspect was distributed and a joint effort between Marshall Security and the Glenhills Community Policing Forum, saw the suspect apprehended in Wistaria Grove, shortly after 3pm,” said Van Reenen.

The suspect was reportedly found with the water meter in his possession.
