Protesters block lanes on N2
Traffic on the N2 going northbound is being affected by protest action.
POLICE have warned commuters to approach the N2, going north, just before the King Shaka Airport with caution after protesters blocked off two lanes with burning tyres. It is not clear at this stage what the protest is about but traffic has started to back up.
According to police on scene, the protesters dispersed as soon as they arrived on scene. Two lanes have been closed because of the debris from the protest. It is currently being cleared up.
Last year, residents of Blackburn Informal Settlement also blocked part of the N2 in a service delivery protest.
N2: Northbound, protesters between Umdloti and the new airport off-ramp. Road is CLOSED.
