One injured in 6-car pile-up

Since May last year, seven people have been killed on this particular stretch of road, while more than 40 people have been injured in various accidents.

A WOMAN was seriously injured in a six-car pile-up on the N2 at the Queen Nandi Drive intersection on Thursday afternoon. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, exact details of the crash are still under investigation.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that six vehicles collided into each other. The wreckages were spread over a large area. One female sustained serious injuries, while all the other commuters escaped uninjured. Medics treated the patient at the scene before she was transported to hospital,” he said.

In another incident on Thursday afternoon, emergency services and firefighters managed to douse the flames of a car that was ablaze on the M4.
