Local tech guru set for Microsoft
Taylor Gibb has been appointed as one of the company’s youngest regional directors.
AT the age of 22 local resident, Taylor Gibb, has been appointed as the new regional director for Microsoft South Africa.
A mean feat considering that simply to be vetted for the position requires a motivation from another Microsoft employee, and that the candidate can only be appointed by another director.
What’s more, Gibb secured the position after dropping out of school at the age of 14.
According to Gibb the decision to leave school at such a young age has taught him to work outside his comfort zone and that it is actually where he excels. He said once he becomes comfortable in a situation he pushes for a change.
The young computer guru said his passion for technology began in his mother’s garage where he would fix old computers.
Gibb was previously employed as a software engineer at one of the world’s largest software and gaming development companies, Derivco.
