No arrests have yet been made after a woman was attacked on a local beach.

THE Durban North SAPS are looking for a man believed to be in his 40s after an attempted rape on eMdloti Beach near North Beach Road. According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the local station, the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon last week. Police are now searching for the suspect, who was seen jogging in the area moments before the attack.

“The victim noticed the man jogging as she was walking along the beach. He then approached her and grabbed her, throwing her to the sand. A struggle ensued and he grabbed her around the throat and attempted to push her legs apart. She begged and pleaded for him to stop and told him to take her handbag, which had a few valuables in it. The suspect made off with the bag,” he said.

Police are still searching for the suspect. No arrests have yet been made.
