Reader urges athletes to be ‘considerate’

Be considerate. Let the regulars enjoy their 'trots' and the wonderful view we have.

MIDWEEK workers look forward to their weekend run /walk on the Umhlanga promenade. This, however, is marred by over-eager runners who feel the promenade is theirs on a Saturday morning. We are jostled and shoved by these ‘wanna be’ Bruce Fordyce’s, whose only intent is to try and win the race.
Not only do I speak for the ‘worker’, but have witnessed the elderly been ignored by the ‘bus loads’ of athletes that swarm through the promenade.

Surely these clubs can find alternative venues. Clubs and school tracks, would welcome these runners.
Be considerate. Let the regulars enjoy their ‘trots’ and the wonderful view we have.
