THE current havoc on North Coast Road is reportedly the result of taxi wars.
Various authorities have been called to the scene where two rival taxi associations are standing off on opposite sides of the busy road, apparently ‘enticing’ each other, said Kyle van Reenen of Crisis Medical.
“From what we can gather, it’s got something to do with taxi routes and taxi association wars,” he said.
Van Reenen said the traffic is currently being turned away in the vicinity of Acutt Avenue, Sea Cow Lake and at Riverside Road.
Reports have also suggested that Blackburn Road has also been blocked.
