Two dead, three injured in N2 crash

The horrific accident on the N2 claimed the lives of two women and left three men seriously injured.

TWO women have died and three men are in serious condition following a horrific car crash on the N2 between uMhlanga and eMdloti earlier today.

According to reports from the scene, a silver Mini Cooper veered off the road and overturned into a dense bush along the freeway near Blackburn Estate.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene of the north bound carriage way to find a single light motor vehicle had rolled several times before coming to a rest on an embankment next to the roadway,” said Kyle van Reenen of Crisis Medical.

All five occupants were reportedly ejected from the vehicle.

The women were announced dead at the scene. The men are said to have sustained serious injuries. They were treated on scene and then transported to a nearby hospital, added Reenen.

The exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation.
