Woman raped and kicked from moving vehicle

The suspect is said to have raped the woman after offering her accommodation, and later kicked her out of a moving vehicle.

POLICE have arrested an Avoca Hills man after he allegedly raped a holidaymaker in his home on Sunday night. After the sexual assault the suspect is said to have dumped the victim from a moving vehicle.

It’s alleged that the woman traveled to Durban to visit her boyfriend, but after the two had had an argument she fled his home. While waiting for transport on Nkosimzonjani Road she was approached by a stranger, said W/O Leon Audh of the Greenwood Park SAPS.

The victim reportedly explained her situation to the man and he offered to help her find a taxi. However, after they were unable to locate any transport he suggested that the woman stay at his home in Khabazela Village and she accepted his offer, added Audh.

According to Audh once they arrived at the suspect’s home he became forward with the victim and blatantly told her that he wanted to have sex with her.

“When she refused, the suspect became aggressive. He told her that if she wanted to leave he would shoot her. He then took her into his room and raped her,” said Audh.

After the sexual assault the suspect allegedly dragged the victim back in to his car and threatened to dump her in a nearby river or bush, however while driving he kicked her out of the moving vehicle and sped off.

Bruised and battered the victim flagged down a private security company vehicle, and the patrollers alerted the police.

“Members of Greenwood Park SAPS then followed up on the case and arrested the suspect the same day,” confirmed Audh. \

The man is set to appear in court on Wednesday.
