Man brutally stabbed during armed robbery

The victim of an armed robbery was stabbed in the face, stomach and arm after he tried to resist his attackers' demands.

A MAN was brutally stabbed during an armed robbery on Temple Road on Sunday evening. It is alleged that the man was on his way home from the bank when the incident occurred.

According to W/O Leon Audh, of the Greenwood Park SAPS, the victim was approached by two unknown suspects at around 5pm. One of the suspects is said to have tripped the victim.

“They demanded cash from him. The complainant tried to resist and was subsequently stabbed in his face, stomach and right arm. The suspects left the victim lying on the floor and fled with R500 in cash,” he added.

Audh urged the public not to resist should they find themselves in a similar situation.

“Rather adhere to the instructions of the suspects to reduce the risk of being injured or worse. Try to walk in groups at high risk places,” he said.

Police have once again made an urgent appeal to the public to assist with information. Contact Det/W/o S.M. Moodley on 083 799 6999.
