Man crushed between two trucks

It is believed the freak accident occurred when one of the truck's brakes failed.

A MAN is fighting for his life after he was pinned between two heavy goods vehicles this afternoon.

Kyle van Reenen of Crisis Medical said, “Paramedics were called to the scene on Peters Road in Redhill and on arrival found the man wedged between the two vehicles, having sustained life-threatening injuries.”

“Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilise the man before he was placed on to a mechanical ventilator to assist him with breathing. Once stabilised, a delicate extrication process took place as emergency services worked to free the man, who was then taken to hospital,” he added.

Bystanders have alleged that the incident occurred while the man was working on one of the trucks when it’s parking brakes failed, causing it to roll forward and crush the man, he added.
