6 injured in 9-car pileup on N2

Commuters sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate in severity in the accident.

A multi-vehicle collision on the N2 near the  off-ramp has left six people injured.

Accoding to Kyle van Reenen, spokesman for Crisis Medical, the accident took place this morning.

“Paramedics along with other emergency services arrived on scene to find nine vehicles had collided leaving six commuters injured,” he said.

One of the commuters, a 40-year-old man, sustained a serious head injury.

“The injured were triaged and treated on scene before being taken by ambulance to various nearby hospitals,” he added.

Traffic was severely affected as emergency services worked to clear the scene and the necessary authorities were on scene to assist. The cause of the incident is unclear at present.
