A 30-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life after he was struck by a vehicle on North Coast Road in Redhill this afternoon. The driver of the vehicle was left unharmed in the accident confirmed Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen.

“Paramedics along with members of the local Community Policing Forum were alerted to the scene by passing motorists. On arrival on scene the man was found lying in the middle of the roadway having sustained a traumatic brain injury. Advanced life support intervention was required to stabilize the man before he was placed on to a manual ventilator to assist him in breathing.

“Once stabilized he was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further definitive care. Traffic was severely affected as part of the roadway remained closed whilst emergency services worked to clear the scene,” he said.

In the early hours of this morning, two people were injured after a car smashed into a tree on Blackburn Road.
