Armed men target family in Virginia robbery

Eight men stormed a Virginia home, held up residents and ransacked the house.

EIGHT men, all of whom were armed, stormed into a house on Kentucky Drive at about 1pm on Tuesday afternoon. The men made off with a number of goods worth R10 000. According to a police source, the armed group had tried to rob a house on the same road just minutes earlier.

“The men cut through electric fencing but the alarm was activated and they fled in unknown directions. A few minutes later a house on the same road was robbed by eight armed men. They held up the residents, who were at home at the time, and made off with two flat screen TVs and items to the value of R10 000,” the source said.

The armed robbery comes after an elderly La Lucia resident was robbed in her home by masked men on Sunday.
