Woman stabbed and robbed

One of the suspects allegedly stabbed the woman’s left arm while the other suspect snatched her handbag.

A WOMAN was left with a serious stab wound after being attacked by two men on Effingham Road on Monday night.

The woman was walking home when she was reportedly approached by two unknown men at around 6.30pm, said W/O Leon Audh of the Greenwood Park SAPS.

One of the men allegedly stabbed the woman’s left arm while the other suspect snatched her handbag.

“The suspects escaped with an approximate value of R1 000 worth of items in her bag. Following the incident, the victim received medical attention,” he said.

Police have once again appealed to anyone with information to contact Det/Col Serfontein on 083 426 9657.

Safety tips:
– Muggings are very common and people who are unaware of their surroundings often fall prey on the streets and at shopping malls.
– People waiting for transport are urged to wait inside a building.
– It is much safer to wear a handbag around the neck and diagonally across the body. Don’t carry it over one shoulder.
– Wallets should be kept in the front pocket.
