Motorist ambushed on Riverside Road

The suspects reportedly forced the victim's vehicle to a standstill by tossing a brick though his driver's side window.

A MAN was robbed at knifepoint last week after two suspects allegedly stoned his vehicle, forcing it to a standstill.

According to W/O Leon Audh of the Greenwood Park SAPS, the victim’s nightmare began when he noticed an obstruction lying on the middle lane along Riverside Road.

“As he tried to avoid the obstruction, a brick was thrown into the driver’s side window, forcing him to stop. Two unknown suspects approached the vehicle and opened the driver and passenger doors,” he said.

One of the suspects reportedly produced a knife and held it to the victim’s throat, demanding money.

After they robbed the victim of his cell phone, DVD screen and an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects fled the scene.

“Greenwood Park SAPS have increased patrols in the area during the latter parts of the evening and early hours of the morning,” added Audh.
