Police on the hunt for hijackers

Two men are still at large after they hijacked a woman in Effingham Heights yesterday afternoon. Police have urged the public to come forward with any information.

THE Greenwood Park SAPS are on the hunt for two hijackers. The men are believed to have stolen a Mercedes Benz from on Ramchand Road in Effingham Heights yesterday at around noon.

According to W/O Leon Audh, spokesman for the station, the suspects accosted the owner of the vehicle while she was parked outside her property on the residential road.

The victim had loaded various items into the boot of her car and climbed back into the vehicle when the suspects approached her from the driver’s door side and pointed a firearm at her.

“The suspect pulled the complainant out of the vehicle and drove off. The vehicle was later recovered at Inanda Dam,” confirmed Audh.

However, the men are still at large. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident are urged to contact Det/Col Serfontein on 083 426 9657.
