DURBAN North resident and PinkDrive KZN administrator, Janice Benecke, is appealing to residents to support the organisation’s upcoming event, BraTini – A Mixer for Life, on 9 October at the Protea Hotel Edward in Durban at 2.30pm. The event aims to raise breast cancer awareness and funds.
Benecke has also urged attendees to bring bras, which will be distributed in disadvantaged communities while educating women about proper bra sizes. She added that the organisation performs about 20 mammograms a day.
“Our primary goal is to raise funds, which will go towards keeping the PinkDrive trucks on the roads, giving free healthcare services and educating women.
“There will be loads of fun, entertainment and prizes, all the while supporting a good cause. As this is a BraTini, the guests can dress up to the theme and there will be a prize for best-dressed,” Benecke said.
