IT became a race against the clock as the authorities battled to save the life of a biker trapped underneath a minibus taxi in Mount Edgecombe no more than an hour ago
When members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at the accident scene on Flanders Drive, they determined that the 31-year-old biker had sustained serious head and body injuries when he was run over by the taxi.
A jack was used to lift the vehicle off the wounded man, which then enabled the paramedics to remove the man from under the vehicle and stabalise him before transporting him to a nearby hospital in Phoenix.
Details of the accident are still unclear at this stage.
