eMdloti snare hunters discover weed farm

While conducting a routine snare hunt, residents in eMdloti ventured upon an alleged dagga farm off Bellamont Gardens.

A TOTAL of 12 snares were found in the bush opposite Bellamont Gardens recently.

This came after a local resident organised two snare hunts on Friday last week and again on Monday. Snare hunting is a common occurrence in the green belts in the area.

But the party was not prepared for their second discovery. On Friday, they stumbled upon a section of land allegedly used as a dagga plantation.

According to a post shared on the eMdloti 568 Community Facebook page, a huge section of the bush had been laid bare and cultivated. On Friday, they returned to the scene with local authorities and they found the last four snares.

Police have not yet confirmed the discovery.
