GREENWOOD Park Primary School pupil, Christin Robson, always wanted to give back to the community and her school. The Grade 7 pupil, who is involved in a number of charitable projects and is pursuing an active modelling career, recently combined the two aspects on national Reach For A Dream Slippers Day.
The slipper day campaign calls on locals to donate their pocket change to help support children who are battling life-threatening illnesses while wearing their adorable fluffy, bunny-eared ‘pantoffels’.
Christin, who is a finalist in SA Dream Model Search, donated a number of pairs of slippers to Grade R learners at her school.
“Doing charity work is very important to me. It gives me an opportunity to give back to my community. It just feels great to be able to help others, especially children. I think people underestimate what a difference slippers can make to children, keeping their feet warm and comfortable,” she said.
The 12-year-old added she hoped her work would inspire others to also give back to the community.
