AK-47-wielding men target Glenashley home

A suspect stood with an assault rifle while his accomplices ransacked a Glenashley home.

A GROUP of four men, one armed with an AK-47, broke into a home on Adelaide Drive at around 11am on Monday morning. The suspects derailed a gate before smashing in the front door of the home. The owners were away when the break-in occurred, said Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell.

“According to eyewitnesses, one of the suspects, armed with an AK-47, stood guard outside the entrance of the property while his accomplices were in the home. When our response unit arrived, we noticed a TV had been taken and possibly other smaller goods.

“We are pretty sure this group is involved in other house break-ins in the area. It’s worrying that people are carrying assault rifles and that a family driving past might be mistaken for a police response unit,” he said.
