Two shot on Lagoon Drive, suspect flees

Two men injured after altercation in uMhlanga.

TWO men were injured in the early hours of this morning after a shooting on Lagoon Drive. It is believed the incident occurred at about 1am outside the Ocean Basket and Diamond Grill & Lounge parking lot.

According to Haden Searles, chairman of the Durban North/Umhlanga Community Police Forum an argument led to the shooting.

“One of the men involved in the altercation pulled out his firearm and shot one man in the leg. He also shot a second man in the leg. Thankfully there were no fatalities. He then fled the scene and is still at large. We are confident an arrest in this case will be made,” he said.
