Challenor up for PinkDrive event

Lace up for the Totalsports Women's Race on Sunday, 19 July.

DURBAN North runner, Jenna Challenor, will be leading a field of women on Sunday, 19 July at the Berea Rovers Sports Club (Durban) when they line up for the much anticipated Totalsports Women’s Race in support of PinkDrive. Challenor who has just come back from injury is looking forward to the race.

“I love the race, the course, the atmosphere and the fact that it’s a women’s race. It’s amazing that the Totalsports Women’s Race is held in support of PinkDrive.

“I am proud to be a part of it. Last year I ran in honour of a close friend who passed away from cancer. It was a very special experience and for that reason the event will always be close to my heart,” said Challenor.

She said her goal for 2015 would be to run a solid race.

“I have just come back from injury and have no idea where my fitness is right now. The competition on event day is always fantastic. It pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes for a good solid run. The vibe and atmosphere carries you through the race. Athletes wanting to secure a personal best time will be happy to hear that the route is fast and flat,” she said.

Challenor will face tough competition from Lebo Phalula, Lebogang Phalula, Rutendo Nyahora and Yolande Maclean.

The race starts at 8am, and finishes at Berea Rovers Sports Club and consists of either a 5km or 10km route.

The Totalsports Women’s Race supports PinkDrive, a non-profit company committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering services to women across South Africa.
